Colditz There are several of these photo cut-outs around the castle. This one shows a German guard with a dummy which prisoners used to take the place in roll calls of an escaped prisoner. Two prisoners would hold it up between them in the middle of the formation, and drop a pair of boots under it. It worked for a long while. |
